Quincy, MA, June 19 – The North of Boston Media Group has selected the Merlin Hosted Digital Asset Management System to seamlessly organize their photos and videos from both print and website production. The media group properties include publications such as The Eagle-Tribune, The Salem News, The Daily News of Newburyport and the Gloucester Daily Times.
Merlin will serve as the publications’ budgeting tool, picture desk and archive; a repository of local photographers’ images and videos. Legacy content will be migrated as part of the move to the hosted environment. MerlinOne supplies all servers, storage and other equipment, does all the IT tasks, and support and upgrades are included. The publications benefits from lower costs, no IT workload, and no need to be continually adding storage: all that is MerlinOne’s responsibility.
Merlin hosted systems are a full, outsourced, digital asset management solution offered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) or as a license. MerlinOne manages its services in a top-notch co-location facility with high security, generator backups and multiple connections to Internet backbones and provides performance and uptime guarantees, and complete redundancy. MerlinOne also includes support for instances running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), so customers can choose the solution that best fit their strategic IT goals.
