For almost 25 years, MerlinOne has had an annual tradition of gifting toys to low-income and military families for the holidays. Every December the Quincy, MA. staff goes on a shopping spree at Toys R Us, purchasing over 1,000 toys for area charities. This year our out-of-state and Canadian employees were able to join in as well, via an online shopping spree.
All of us at MerlinOne would like to thank our loyal digital asset management customers, and wish you all a wonderful holiday season! It is because of you that we are able to give back to the community every year, and this holiday season we were able to donate toys to over 830 children in need. We’d like to take a moment to tell you about the organizations you have helped support:
Cape Cod Military Family Foundation
Just before the holidays, they had a tragic warehouse fire at Joint Base Cape Cod. Thankfully no one was hurt, but over 1,000 toys they had collected were lost in the fire. We were able to provide them with a van full of toys to help replace what was lost, and Operation Homefront delivered them in time for their holiday party on December 11th.
ABCD – Action for Boston Community Development
ABCD serves more than 100,000 low-income Greater Boston residents annually through its city-wide network of neighborhood-based organizations. It provides innovative, timely programs that promote upward mobility and a higher quality of life for people and communities in need. We have been a proud donor to their Holiday Toy Drive for over 20 years and look forward to supporting them in the future. For more information on the programs they offer, please visit http://bostonabcd.org/.
Interfaith Social Services
This year we sponsored 25 children from Interfaith Social Services to provide them with items from their Christmas wishlists, plus an additional bulk toy donation for children who did not get individual sponsors. Founded in 1947, Interfaith Social Services is dedicated to improving life for local families and individuals in need. They rely on a team of volunteers, donors and community partners to deliver compassionate, client-centered programs focused on hunger, mental health and emergency assistance. Over 600 children were signed up for the holiday program last year, and even more are expected this year. For many, these are the only gifts they will receive. Operation Homefront
The Northeast Chapter of Operation Homefront is headquartered in our hometown of Quincy, Massachusetts. We have supported their Christmas Toy Drive for the last three years, and are honored to give back to the military families that sacrifice so much for our country. Operation Homefront assists military families during difficult financial times by providing food assistance, auto and home repair, vision care, travel and transportation, moving assistance, essential home items, and financial assistance. They also have an outreach program to provide support to Wounded Warriors and the families of active and retired military personnel.
Military
MerlinOne has been a proud supporter of military families for over 15 years, and this year we were especially proud to once again sponsor the United States Army Reserve 439th Quartermaster Co. Brockton Detachment. Wishlist gifts were purchased and wrapped for 39 children of military personnel, and distributed at their annual family day in December. We are honored to give back to these military families that give so much to all of us.
We look forward to continuing to support these wonderful organizations and the much needed services they provide.
Thank you again from all of us at MerlinOne, and best wishes for 2017!
