Quincy, Jan 7-Hearst Newspapers will be moving all their daily newspaper properties’ stories, photos and PDF pages to the hosted MerlinOne digital asset management service. Hearst publishes 15 dailies in cities including Houston, San Francisco, San Antonio and Albany.
The Albany Times-Union, which had an on premise MerlinOne archive system, moved to the hosted Merlin service in 2009, where editors can easily locate stories, photos and published newspaper pages.
The Hearst publications will also use the MerlinOne Trax assignment system as well as the video search technology which allows users to actually search for words spoken in the audio tracks.
